the plumb is a new art space looking to show and engage emerging artists in the community. We are seeking portfolios to go into an archive for curators to review and pull from. This is a way for us to learn about work from artists we may not already have on our radar, and for letting us know that you may be interested in showing work with us in the future.the plumb is currently a member-funded DIY space, and unfortunately we are not able to pay artist fees. We hope to change this in the future. In the meantime, we will offer all practical assistance we can (this depends on work/exhibition specific needs, but might look like: picking up/transport of artwork, professional documentation, technical equipment sourcing, writing about your work, securing reviews in magazines/journals/publications, assisting with grant applications, etc).
Please submit your portfolios via our online form, which can be found by clicking here.
Projects and Proposals
the plumb is open to collaborations with independent curators and various community members. If you’re interested in sending us your projects or events for consideration please fill out this online form, which can be found by clicking here. We also offer rental of the space for projects that fit our schedule and mandate.
the plumb is a 2,000 sq. ft. space, which includes two large galleries, an atrium, two single-user gender-neutral washrooms, and several intervening rooms and alcoves. Below are some images of our two gallery spaces.
