Nice Touch brings together a diverse range of practices from a community of artist:technicians who through discursive collaborations, skill exchange, peer mentorship and care embody a commitment to building a more beautiful and complicated world, one contract at a time.
Though they are highly skilled, rather than a strict set of requirements for the job, art handlers succeed by being adaptable and proficient problem solvers who can take on many disparate tasks.
The artist is an art handler; an art handler is the curator; the painter is is a DIY electrician; the carpenter is cutting foam; the AV person is building a crate; the fabricator is installing light fixtures; the plasterer is painting a mural; the ceramicist is cutting a hole in the ceiling; the writer is sanding a wall; The art handler is an artist.
