What month is it, anyway? Even as this passing year has reminded us of nature’s powers—both within our own bodies and in the world around us—it has also left many of us unmoored from its rhythms and rituals. Spring came and went, summer came and went, but where were we?

Here's what we know: on July 25th we picked up the keys to 1655 Dufferin Street, to a door down an alley on the south side of St. Clair. We built walls, cleaned dust and scratched rust. We chained 40-minute Zoom sessions like desperate cigarettes. We gathered an unprecedented amount of free stuff. We burrowed through the depths, and came out with the plumb.

The work in this exhibition grows out of an urge to blossom into something greater, even in the worst conditions. To germinate ideas and foster gardens of discourse. After a long pause, we sprout new buds. Expecting a long winter, we fall as compost on the mound, drawn together in the collaborative spirit of fertilizing our space. We are ready to be devoured, spit out and started anew.
